چکیده

Abstract A sweet fruit taste of passion is produced by Passiflora ligularis , which adapts in around 1400 masl. Some P. edulis accessions wide elevation adaptation was reported to have a taste. This study aimed examine the morphological characteristics progenies from red- and yellow-rind obtain an adaptive accession low-elevation conditions. total 118 classified as their parents’ rind color shape were germinated October 2021 transplanted field after two months Padang city at 163 masl elevations. The characterization conducted observing all ripe fruits until September 2022. Results 35 showed variation quantitative characters, while similar qualitative characters stem, leaf, flower among accessions, except tendril stem color. noticeable differences between are characteristics. Antioxidant Activity of Passiflora edulis Sims Leaves

Ethanol extract of Passiflora edulis Sims was analyzed for its antioxidant (1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl radical reducing power methods) and phytochemical analysis. The extract was found effective against the antioxidant test models exhibiting an IC(50) value of 875+/-87.83 mug/ml and showed strong potential antioxidant activity in both assays.

Antibacterial, Cytotoxic and Antioxidant Activity of Passiflora Edulis Sims

The petroleum ether and chloroform fractions of ethanol extract of leaf and stem from the plant Passiflora edulis (Fam: Passifloraceae) was subjected to antioxidant, antibacterial and cytotoxic activity. All the fractions showed potent antioxidant activity, of which the chloroform and petroleum ether fraction of stem demonstrated the strongest antioxidant activity with the IC50 value of 51.28 μ...

Drosophila sweet taste receptor *

Like the Sac locus controlling sugar sensitivity in mice, the taste gene Tre of the fruitfly Drosophila was discovered in wild populations as a genetic dimorphism controlling gustatory sensitivity to a sugar trehalose. By activating a P-element transposon near the gene locus we obtained induced Tre mutations and analyzed the associated changes in gene organizations and the mRNA expressions. The...

Mammalian Sweet Taste Receptors

The sense of taste provides animals with valuable information about the quality and nutritional value of food. Previously, we identified a large family of mammalian taste receptors involved in bitter taste perception (the T2Rs). We now report the characterization of mammalian sweet taste receptors. First, transgenic rescue experiments prove that the Sac locus encodes T1R3, a member of the T1R f...
